Assembly Technician

Job Description

Summary of Position:  

The DWT Assembly Technician will work directly with and for the Chief Engineer and along with the entire DWT Team to accomplish the objectives of the business strategy of the company.  The position will require the fabrication of composite wind turbine parts, metal turbine parts, electronics assembly, and shop floor organization and cleaning.   Other tasks required to be performed include but are not limited to mechanical fabrication, parts testing, parts qualification, measurements, materials preparation, and turbine assembly and installation.

The ability to follow detailed process instructions is essential, as is attention to detail and quality.

The position is extremely “hands-on” and requires a depth of mechanical aptitude and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.  Required capabilities include keen eyesight, dexterity, mobility, and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

DWT is seeking someone with excellent communication and teamwork skills, and has a creative and innovative mindset.

This non-exempt hourly position is full time, 8:30AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday, onsite at the DWT headquarters in Potsdam NY.  Overtime hours outside of normal business hours may sometimes be required.    DWT is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  Website address:  Home (ductedwind.com)

Job Requirements

Minimum High School education/GED. At least 1 year of work experience in factory, warehouse, or similar setting with experience in assembly mechanical systems, fabrication, factory assembly, materials handling, or machining is required.  Experience or capabilities in electronics, motors, CAD drawing, or renewable energy power production systems is preferred.   A valid NYS driver’s license is required.
