Clifton-Fine Health Corporation applied for assistance through the St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency to help finance a project which involves the replacement of its primary care clinic building. The new clinic will be an addition attached to the existing hospital building, and will replace the hospital’s old clinic, which was damaged beyond use from a fire that occurred in October 2008. The hospital is a small rural Critical Access Hospital which operates 20 beds for acute and long-term care. The hospital provides a 24-hour emergency department. Laboratory, radiology and physical therapy services are also provided. The project consists of a first floor-level addition and a very small addition to the second floor level,
and will include a lobby/main entrance, waiting room, reception area, public toilet, exam rooms, physician offices, soiled and clean utility rooms, staff work area, medical records area, new elevator, patient toilet rooms, housekeeping closet, storage area, and a new elevator.
