The St. Lawrence River Valley Redevelopment Agency is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Development and Environmental Improvement Program. Applications and $100 application fee are due by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.

Workforce Community and Industry Partnerships “WCIP” at SUNY Canton is offering a new Foundation of Drone Operations & Compliance micro credential beginning on January 19^th with three required courses.  The first course involves test prep for the FAA Part 107 exam, which is required to operate and fly a drone. The other two classes will discuss flying techniques, using a drone for photography and conducting needed repairs.  This micro credential is being offered under the college’s ANCA/NYSERDA grant which means the tuition, fees, textbook and exam fee are covered.  The first course is synchronous online for 7-weeks on Tuesday/Thursday nights from 5:00-6:50pm. Join us for an in-person, outdoor networking opportunity! The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and the St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency are hosting the next “Nature & Networking” event at the Gouverneur Community Center at 4:30pm on Thursday, July 22nd!

At 4:30, attendees who wish to, may join a small group ‘walk & talk.’ Others are welcome to stay behind at the Community Center. The Networking Program will then begin at 5:00, focusing on employee retention and provide an opportunity for businesses to share thoughts in an open discussion.

St. Lawrence County’s broadband survey project is well underway and we’ve heard from over 1,500 residents and businesses in the county about their high-speed internet access and affordability, but the goal is to hear from as many residents as possible. The more data we gather, the more successful we will be at attracting the funding, providers and infrastructure that we need to improve broadband access in our county. This is a joint project between St. Lawrence County and the Development Authority of the North Country. Please take a moment to participate in a brief, confidential survey that will ask you questions about your access to broadband, whether from a business or your home:  http://www.stlawrencecountybroadband.com.
