Canexsys specializes in designing and manufacturing products for the telecom sector using various technologies: circuit boards, injection molding, sheet metal, mechanical assembly, etc. This role and compensation for this role assumes that we train you from the ground up, with compensation increases as you improve skillsets. Position Overview:
Canexsys is looking for a Molding Technician. The scope of this position is quite broad, and we expect to train you from the ground up. We will tailor the scope of the position to the candidate. Above all, you must love a big challenge!
We need:
- Mechanical aptitude: understanding machine mechanics, must have extensive experience working on machines (either as employment or hobby).
- An appetite for challenge: open to learning complicated injection molding technology over several years, developing with training and time.
- A focus on safety and mold protection approaches: since the technology may be new to you, a strong need not to make dangerous decisions. Do not try to impress if you’re not sure.
- Knowing what you don’t know: your Director, Mfg Operations can help you a lot with areas in which you have less experience, but you must be able to self-assess where your weaknesses are.
Initial Responsibilities:
- Learn Canexsys build philosophy from other team-members.
- For a period of approximately 3 months, receive incremental internal training to achieve moderate competency.
- Then, receive external training to further your skillsets.
Opportunities for Advancement:
- Learn to perform mold changes using approved rigging techniques.
- Learn to perform production startups.
- Learn to perform mold trials.
- Effectively train and manage operators for quality defects, flash trimming, etc.
- Learn molding theory, including but not limited to velocity vs pressure control, temperature, processing conditions, gate seal, troubleshooting defects through scientific molding techniques.
- Perform interchangeable insert changes.
- Learn to troubleshoot molding defects.
- Use protective systems, including but not limited to ejection confirmation switches, mold protect.
- Troubleshoot and maintain peripheral equipment: dryers, mold heaters, pneumatics.
- Troubleshoot heater bands.
- Troubleshoot hot runners.
- Record keeping of work orders, and effective process setup controls.
Reports to:
Director, Manufacturing Operations, also Plant Manager.
Compensation:
This posting ranges $20.00-$24.00/HR. (Canexsys publishes the maximum wage for a perfect candidate according to this criteria – Compensation reduced accordingly based on strength of candidate).
In considering Opportunities for Advancement, note that the Senior Molding Technician for someone having extensive experience in injection molding and all of our Senior Molding Technician Qualifications/Skills has a max wage currently of $31.00/HR.

Minimum Previous Experience:
- Previous experience with machines, engines, machining, carpentry, etc. would help demonstrate your suitability.
- Mechanical aptitude: understanding machine mechanics, experience working with machines (mandatory).
- Candidate is selected based on character, work ethic, and technician potential (mandatory).
