Low Voltage Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team.  The idea candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, including security, surveillance, and fire alarm systems.  This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various low voltage systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems such as CCTV, security alarms, fire alarms, and access control systems.
• Conduct field service visits to troubleshoot and repair existing installations.
• Collaborate with clients to design and implement tailored security solutions based on their specific needs.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete installations efficiently and safely.
• Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate system set up.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on installed systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide training to clients on system operation and maintenance procedures.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to low voltage systems.

Expected hours:  Day shift hours. No less than 35 per week.

Compensation

$24.00 - $38.00 per hour

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree
Valid New York State driver’s license
Experience in low voltage or electrical work preferred
Familiar with camera systems, access control, and security installations
Fire alarm experience a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable with tools and technology
Excellent customer service skills
Working knowledge of how an alarm system operates
Must be comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights
Ability to work independently or as part of a team while demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills
