Recreation Director

Job Description

The City of Ogdensburg is currently accepting applications for the position of Recreation Director.

Compensation

The starting salary range is $54,080 to $62,192 (DOQ) with an excellent fringe benefit package including NYS retirement and platinum-level health insurance significantly covered by the City.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either

1. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks Management or a closely related field; AND one (1) year of experience in the conduct of recreation activities or operating a recreation facility which shall have included one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; OR

2. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks Management or a closely related field AND three (3) years of experience in the conduct of recreation activities or operating a recreation facility which shall have included one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; OR

3. Graduation from high school, possession of a high school equivalency diploma, or possession of an Individual Education Plan diploma AND five (5) years of experience in the conduct of recreation activities or operating a recreation facility which shall have included one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
