Description of Duties

SUNY Canton is accepting applications for a full-time Project Coordinator for Strategic Initiatives. The successful candidate will work half-time in the Center for Workforce, Community & Industry Partnerships (CWCIP), reporting directly to the Executive Director, and half-time supporting the Vice President for Strategic Relations & Communications (which oversees the CWCIP).

Responsibilities

Center for Workforce, Community & Industry Partnerships:

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating scheduling, invoicing and administrative duties associated with workforce development and relevant campus grants/initiatives. The incumbent will coordinate microcredential initiatives, community engagement, and workforce trainings. This position will work with other staff, faculty, and administrative units on campus when required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform administrative coordinating duties related to the Center for Workforce, Community & Industry Partnerships.
  • Facilitate project operation by creating timelines, milestones, and deliverables to contribute to effective planning and implementation.
  • Coordinate invoicing, scheduling, and tracking of workforce development trainings and other initiatives, including summer camps.

Strategic Relations & Communications:

The successful candidate will provide administrative and program support for the Vice President of Strategic Relations and Communications in the areas of economic development, community relations, government relations, and special projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform administrative coordinating duties related to the Office of Strategic Relations & Communications.
  • Budget tracking.
  • Draft/edit/proofread communications and other documents.
  • Aid in administrative details for planning and implementation of projects/initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between internal and external constituencies.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Compensation

Salary: $44,000 - 47,500

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2 or more years of related professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, independent judgment, ability to work collaboratively, and initiative to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written.)
  • Familiarity with project management tools and office software, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Class D driver’s license.
