A Hydropower Powerhouse

St. Lawrence County is well-known for its substantial hydropower capabilities, best represented by the St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project in Massena, one of the New York Power Authority’s major hydroelectric dams. Additionally, the vast wood supply of the Adirondacks and other North Country forests provides a nearly limitless amount of biomass for renewable energy production and use.
